"A Constant Spiral" is a stand-alone single that began as the fifth track on "Deathbed," which was called "Waiting Room Dread" at the time. However, I found that the song didn't work as a full, 10+ minute track, so I scrapped it and started over from scratch on the "Waiting Room Prayer" track that ended up on the album. Around that time, I was invited to be a part of two collaboration projects and I knew I wanted something new and fresh. I came back to this scrapped song and reworked it to be shorter and more to the point with new guitar leads and lyrics, and suddenly it worked amazingly. This track is intended to stand by itself, but it could also be considered a B-side to "Deathbed" since it was written and recorded at the same time as rest of the album.

lyrics

A constant pelting of venom.
Grieving of Athena.
A constant spiral into the depths.
Everything was gold in moments I forget.

Coursing misery bleeds my veins dry.
Crushing urges that peel my eyelids behind my face.
I lost myself more every day.
Siphoning memories; I claw into my cave.

When does it stop hurting so much?
When does it stop hurting so much?
If only my loved ones wouldn't grieve,
And pour out sapphire tears at my grave.

I lost myself more each morning I woke up alive.
